This custom handmade sculpture is of Varanus salvator, commonly referred to as the Asian Water Monitor. One of the most infamous species of monitor in the reptile community.
It was crafted in polymer clay, a material that hardens when baked in the oven, and then painted in bronze and gold. The bronze is dry brushed with emerald green to give it a rusting look. The base is a black walnut wooden slab.
