This custom-handmade sculpture is of Octopus kermadecensis, commonly known as the Atlantic pygmy octopus. Famously known for breaking out of enclosures and being too smart for there own good.
It was crafted in polymer clay, a material that hardens when baked in the oven, and then painted in bronze and gold. The bronze is dry brushed with emerald green to give it a rusting look. The base is live edge wood, cut in a flat round.
