This custom, handmade sculpture is of the stunning and powerful Varanus salvadorii, commonly known as the crocodile monitor (or Papuan/Salvadori's monitor).
It was crafted in polymer clay, a material that hardens when baked in the oven, and then painted in bronze and gold. The bronze is dry brushed with emerald green to give it a rusting look. The base is live edge wood, cut in a flat round.
