Fable | Your Storybook Lies

Fable demonstrates the villainization of snakes due to their relation to witchcraft and Western dragons. In many eastern cultures and religions, snakes are symbols of transformation, healing, mystery, guidance, and even creation. Despite this and due to their stance in Christianity, snakes are still commonly used as scapegoats for evil, with many wild populations suffering for it.

This piece was also created for Stella Paris' new song "Your Story Book Lies", which references the villainization of certain animals with the villainization and erasure of woman.
