This custom handmade sculpture is of Mobula birostris, commonly referred to as the oceanic manta ray or giant manta ray. One of the gentle giants of the sea and a stunning spectacle to behold.
It was crafted in polymer clay, a material that hardens when baked in the oven, and then painted in bronze and gold. The bronze is dry brushed with emerald green to give it a rusting look. The base is live edge wood, cut in a flat round.
